Your first build with The Architect
This guide takes you from a fresh install to your first ghost. If you have not installed the mod yet, start with the install guide.
Open Architect and log in
Join a singleplayer world or a server and press B, the default key for Architect. A chat window opens on top of the game. Log in with your email. You get a sign-in link, no password. A plan or credits pay for the designs; see plans and credits.
Stand where you want to build
Go to the spot, and look at the ground in front of you. The Architect reads the terrain around you, so it can fit a building to a slope or a shore. That is why most prompts say "in front of me".
Describe what you want
Write it as you would tell a friend: what kind of building, how big, the main parts and the blocks. Compare these two:
- Vague: "a house".
- Better: "Design a beekeeper's cottage about 16x16 in front of me: a timber cottage with a steep hay roof, a covered porch facing me, a fenced flower garden with rows of beehives at the front, and lanterns along the front. Oak, spruce and hay bales."
The second is the prompt behind the Rustic Beekeeper Cottage. Every page in the builds section shows the prompt that made it, so copy them. Depending on your settings, The Architect may show a short plan first and ask if you want to go ahead.

Watch the ghost appear
When the design is ready, a see-through blueprint shows up in your world. Walk around it. Look at it from the side and from above. It is a Litematica schematic, so the usual Litematica tools work on it. Nothing is placed. The ghost is only a preview.

What next
- In survival, follow the material list and build it block by block: build a ghost in survival.
- Not happy with it? Ask for changes in chat: edit and version your build.
- In creative mode you can place the whole thing in one go with
/approve. - Type
/helpto see every command.
The Architect can get a design wrong, like a size or a block choice. Look at the ghost before you gather blocks. The material list always matches the ghost, because it is counted from its blocks.
